States of Matter

Today we'll start a new science unit on the states of matter!  I LOVE this unit, and I'm sure you will too.  I am positive that you will break the mold and find something completely new to you!  I've given several links that you can look at, but how else would you be able to find information about the states of matter?

Project Delivered!

On Friday night, I made the trip to Diamond, Missouri to deliver our peanut project.  Needless to say, the park rangers and attendants loved the artwork!  I was extremely proud to deliver such a beautiful piece of student work.  Below are the pictures of the finished work.  Don't forget that you can attend the awards ceremony with me on March 10 at 2:00 at the park.  I would love to have you all there.  You can visit their website to find out more about the activities there.  If you need directions to the park, please let me know.  It's extremely easy to find!

The picture on the bottom is the artwork at the monument.

The Oregon Trail

January 23, 1843

Today you will become PIONEERS!  You've seen your country grow from 13 colonies, then expand with the Louisiana Purchase, and finally you've had the honor of seeing Missouri become a state!  Now, you have the inclination to make like Lewis and Clark and see what's in store out west.  How will you get there?  What will you take?  Will you survive?  You'll need some time to plan before your journey begins.  Today your task is to find out as much as you can about The Oregon Trail.  It's just one more path that connects you to the promise land of our country.

Follow this link to answer all questions on your planning sheet.
